Meet Our Amazing Staff

   Hillary started Born 2 Dance in 2013  hoping to provide a great studio environment for all ages. Hillary was born and raised in Lindon, Utah where she has been dancing since the age of 2. She focused on ballet taking at Utah Regional ballet for several years then switched to Studio One Dance Center doing all genres of dance where she competed nationally with her studio in New York, Florida, Las Vegas, California and many other places through out junior high and high school. She then attended Utah State University in Logan, UT  where she danced on and became the assistant director of the contemporary dance company and danced on and choreographed for the ambassadors of the institute. After college she continued to teach in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and tumbling at multiple studios including Bobi's Dance in Cedar Hills.  Hillary has been teaching for over 10 years and loves being a part of building technique, confidence, and self-discipline in young dancers.   Because of this Hillary strives to make Born 2 Dance a place where students not only improve their talents but also become well rounded, great people.

   Julie Staheli began dancing at the age of 4 and soon knew that ballet was her love.  She was R.A.D. and Cecchetti trained at Colorado School of Ballet and Vaganova trained at The Academy of the Colorado Ballet.  She graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Dance with a Ballet Emphasis where she performed and toured with the Ballet Showcase Company.  While attending BYU, Julie received dance and academic scholarships and enjoyed student teaching opportunities.  She has danced professionally and has taught at various studios in Utah County, as well as American Leadership Academy, where she directed their Dance Company.  Julie is grateful for the opportunities and experiences that dance has provided.   She has been a dance double in a film, she was a featured dancer in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics Opening Ceremonies, she received a full tuition scholarship from the Burklyn Ballet Theatre and was offered a position dancing at Tokyo Disney.  Julie lives in Cedar Hills and has 4 children.  She loves the ability dance has to inspire and build confidence.  Teaching ballet is her passion!

Amylee Hubert

   Amylee Hubert grew up in Northern California, where she started dancing at the young age of two.  She trained in ballet, studying in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus.  Through the RAD program, Amylee participated in fifteen prestigious exams with examiners from all over the world.  In 1998 she passed the Advanced level exam and became an Associate Member of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD). After high school, Amylee moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University.  She danced on the BYU Theater Ballet Company for three years while working on her Bachelors of Arts with an emphasis in Ballet.  She graduated in the summer of 2002.  Amylee’s performance experience has ranged from classical ballets like The Wizard of Oz, Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, La Fille Mal Gardee, Coppelia, Giselle, Swan Lake, and La Bayadere, to many classical and contemporary ballet pieces created especially for BYU Theater Ballet.  One of her most memorable performances was for the 2002 Paralympics Opening Ceremonies.  Amylee has 21 years of teaching experience, with the past 12 years working as the Ballet Director at Studio 1 Dance Center in Orem, Utah.  She is excited to join the staff at Born 2 Dance and share her love of dancing with the students there. 

The 2017-2018 season will be Kirany's 4th year as a Dance Instructor at Born 2 Dance. Prior to teaching at Born 2 Dance, Kirany taught for two years at Dye’n 2 Dance in Roosevelt, Utah and at Heart N Soul in Springville, Utah. Kirany also interned at Over the Rainbow Preschool for three years. Although her teaching career is fairly young, her dance career is not. Kirany began dancing at the age of 3 at Dyen’ 2 Dance, where she trained in all levels of ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical,  hip-hop, tap and tumbling. With her studio she traveled around the country for numerous dance conventions and competitions. During her last two years of high school, Kirany joined Union High’s Drill Team, where she became Military Officer, won 3A All-state and academic All-State, and joined her team in winning 3rd in State both years. Upon graduation, she received a Full-Tuition Dance Performance Scholarship to Utah Valley University’s Modern Dance Department. At UVU, Kirany was a member of the prestigious modern company, Contemporary Dance Ensemble, for two years while she began her degree in Dance Education. Kirany has loved teaching at Born 2 Dance and is excited for another year of teaching and sharing her love of dance with others!

Allie Madigan

Tumbling/Ballet/Jazz 

 Allie started taking gymnastics at a young age and loved it from the start. At age 11, an injury took her off the mats but it was never far from her thoughts. Her heart has always been on gymnastics and, at the age of 15, she was able to return to the mats; but this time as a teacher.  Lehi Legacy Center saw something special in Allie and she quickly exceeded their expectations. Since starting she has progressed to a level 7 teacher and is currently the floor coach for the competitive gymnastic team. With close to 5 years of teaching, her love and passion for gymnastics is evident in the expertise she brings to each and every class. After gymnastics, Allie trains in classical ballet at UVU. This will be her fourth season at Born 2 Dance. 

    Jessica Doman grew up in Utah, where she started dancing at the age of 3.    She danced at various studios, training in jazz, ballet, contemporary, tap and
hip hop.  Jessica graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU), where she received a Bachelors degree in Exercise and Wellness with a minor in Contemporary Dance.  She was a member of BYU's Contemporary Dance Theatre (CDT).   While a member of the CDT, She was able to travel with her company to Beijing, China to perform with Beijing Dance Academy at the National Theatre for Performing Arts.  Jessica was also a member of the Odyssey Dance Theatre, a professional dance company based in Utah.

    Jessica has been teaching dance for 10 years. Jessica taught college jazz classes at BYU while finishing her undergraduate program as well as at local dance studios. While her husband was doing grad school she also had the opportunity to teach at Connecticut Dance Conservatory for two years. 

    Jessica is a mom of two and after taking a year off from teaching is excited to be back!  "I enjoy teaching dance because I love helping people reach their goals and
potential.  Nothing beats the look on a students face when they achieve
things they never thought they could."

Eddie Alvarez

Hip Hop 

  Eddie has always had a love for dance. He has used that passion often in the last decade of his dancing career.  His dream is to one day travel the world teaching others and inspiring them to develop their skills. His hard work ethic has been invaluable in helping him toward his goal.

In high school he was on the dance company at Timpview high school in Provo, UT . His  senior year he was the main captain for the dance company boys. He also danced at UVU MOSIC and enjoyed his exprience there. 

 Eddie’s style is a combination of smoothness and quickness given his nickname “smooth Eddie” or “Ready Eddie”.  He uses those skills to teach all levels of hip hop from beginning  (ages 5+) to advance (ages 18+).  He also teaches beginning breakdancing. 

 He loves to dance and create bonds with those individuals he teaches. His main motivation for teaching to help others learn the basics so they can feel confident in their skills as well as building confidence in his students.  Having fun while being in a safe environment helps dancers find who they are and feel free to be themselves; which Eddie's primary goal.

Leah Gulstrand 

Ballet/Jazz

 Leah Gulstrand is an artist, dancer, and teacher from Saint Paul, Minnesota. She is a B.F.A candidate from the University of Utah in Modern Dance and Minor in Nutrition. She is a recipient of the University of Utah Fine Art’s Full Academic Tuition Scholarship, which was granted in the spring of 2014 and has continued to renew through the 2018 year.  She has performed in many venues and spaces across Minnesota, Utah, Portland, and Boston, including the Minnesota Fringe festival and The University of Utah’s Performing Dance Company and Gala. Distinguished faculty and Community members she has worked with Include Sharee Lane, Luc Vanier, A ‘Keitha Carey, Jasmine Stack, Margaret Mirrinoff, Emily Blacik- Joos, and Elijah Labay. She has worked at several studios nationally throughout the U.S.A, and at the moment is a staff member at Murray High Schools’ Murray Community Education Program. She is currently living and working in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Sidney Snowden grew up training and competing dance from age 3 up until she graduated from Timpanogos High School in 2013 where she served as the dance company president her senior year. Sidney's passion and dedication to dance lead her to many scholarships and titles including Hollywood Vibes Dancer of the week, and LA Dance Magic's runner up for Magic Performer of the year. After graduating Sidney continued dancing and training with LADM under the direction of Jackie Sleight assisting conventions on tour with LA Dance Magic. Sidney also performed and trained with the contemporary company Expansion under the direction of Bonnie Story. Sidney’s love and passion for dance continues in her teaching and choreography, she has received many recognitions and awards for her choreography and enjoys every aspect of dance. Sidney is trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, tumbling and hip-hop.
